Turning 25 and celebrating 5 years in business...

a special celebration of growth, purpose and giving back...

This year marks a double celebration for me: my 25th birthday and 5 incredible years as a business owner. To honour this milestone, I’m launching a brand new content series where I’ll be sharing the personal and professional lessons I’ve learned on my entrepreneurial journey on my website the highs, the lows and everything in between.

But that’s not all…

To mark 2 in 25, I’ll be supporting two charities that have played a vital role in my life journey. And for 5 in 25, I’m challenging myself to run 5K a day — raising funds and awareness for causes close to my heart.

This celebration isn’t just about me — it’s about community, gratitude, and growth. I can’t wait to take you along for the ride.

My journey so far...

Here’s a little sneak peek into my journey so far... a real brief glimpse into the story. There’s so much more to share, and as we get to know each other, I’ll be opening up even more along the way!

ESTRANGEMENT& HIGHER EDUCATION

In 2018, I was accepted as a Unite Foundation scholar, receiving vital support as I began my journey studying Events Management at Manchester Metropolitan University. During that time, I experienced a traumatic event that deeply impacted my life and navigated the challenges of estrangement. It was a difficult year filled with emotional turmoil, self-neglect, and overwhelming hardship.

But towards the end of the year, I began to pick myself up. Volunteering at events became a turning point—it gave me purpose, helped rebuild my confidence, and reminded me of why I chose this path in the first place.

FINDING MY PERSONAL BRAND

As I began to pick myself up and take back control of my life, I started taking my university course seriously—despite still navigating the challenges of estrangement and the emotional turmoil of being in limited contact with my family. The impact of the traumatic event was still very present, but I was slowly finding my way forward.

I began to find purpose in my work within the events industry. I threw myself into volunteering even more and started landing paid contracts across a range of events. I was investing in my career, dedicating time to professional development, and taking intentional steps towards building a future I could be proud of.

2020

CATAPULTING INTO THE EVENTS INDUSTRY & BUSINESS LAUNCH

Then 2020 happened and the world stopped. On the very first day of lockdown, I created a resource for my university year group to help them keep growing their careers. I shared it on Instagram and LinkedIn, and to my surprise, it went viral.

That moment sparked something in me. I decided to post every single day, and within just three months, my social media following grew from 5 people to over 800. I was invited to speak at community events, industry webinars, and large event gatherings. Event professionals and industry leaders started reaching out, asking me to do for them what I’d done for myself.

Then, on my birthday in August, I took the leap and officially launched my marketing and social media business. Within a month, I had six clients and just like that, my business was thriving, and my profile in the events industry was born.

GROWING MY PUBLIC SPEAKER, MARKETING

2021 was a year of expansion but also one of deep inner work. While I continued building my business, I was still neglecting the unresolved pain from my estrangement, childhood, and the traumatic event I had experienced. I was facing mental barriers that I could no longer ignore.

That’s when I connected with coach Bianca Boyce on Instagram—someone who truly changed my life. She helped me understand estrangement, narcissism, and most importantly, helped me uncover my true purpose and passion. From that point on, my business began to evolve in powerful ways.

I finally came to terms with my estrangement and began speaking about it openly on social media. That moment marked the beginning of my advocacy journey. I started doing more public speaking, delivered my first keynote at an event in Norway called The Digital Disruptor, and was invited to join panels at major industry events like IBTM and Confex.

Meanwhile, my marketing business continued to grow, with a wonderful roster of clients across the events and hospitality industry.

TRAVELLING EUROPE

2022 was the year I went international—and by that, I mean I finally took my work across Europe. From April to September, I travelled to Poland (twice—I absolutely love it there!), Holland, Germany, Slovenia, Spain, and of course, all across London at various venues. It was an incredibly exciting time for both my business and personal brand, and a huge leap forward for my marketing work.

In a beautiful full-circle moment, I became a trustee for the Unite Foundation—the very organisation that supported me just four years earlier as a scholar. I’ve now started helping other estranged and care-experienced students access higher education. I spoke at the Unite Foundation’s annual celebration event, where I was also interviewed on a panel. It was a deeply emotional experience to reflect on how far I’ve come in my estrangement journey.

I was also featured in the This Is Everyone campaign, proudly sharing my story and using my voice to inspire and empower others navigating similar paths.

FINDING MYSELF AGAIN AND HITTING THE CREATIVITY WALL

While my business was thriving and my career was reaching new heights, something still felt off. I had moved in with my boyfriend and started a master’s degree in AI and Data Analytics at the University of Bradford. On the outside, everything looked great—but on the inside, I felt completely lost.

I was constantly working, doing everything for everyone else, and had very little left for myself. I didn’t know what my ambitions were anymore. I’d stopped moving my body, wasn’t making healthy choices, and my mental health began to spiral. It might not seem connected, but losing those small routines—like exercise and self-care—made me feel even more ungrounded. I didn’t know where to turn or what to do.

Then, in August, everything shifted. I had a vivid dream about living in Australia. The very next morning, my boyfriend Alex and I made a decision—we were going to move to Australia in 2025. That decision gave us something to look forward to. Even though I still felt lost, for the first time in a while, I had hope.

RELOCATING TO AUSTRALIA AND REDISCVOERING MY PURPOSE

So, we made the move to Australia—and wow, what a ride it’s been! The first few months were tough. I said goodbye to many clients and left behind the life I’d built in the UK. But deep down, it felt like the right decision. I was still working hard and trying to figure things out, but the outdoor lifestyle in Australia helped me reconnect with myself and rediscover my purpose.

A couple of months after we arrived, we were offered jobs as campsite assistants at a holiday park—and that role completely changed my life. In just four months, I lost two stone, was cycling everywhere, and found joy again. Being back in tourism and hospitality, chatting with people and connecting face-to-face, reminded me how much I love human interaction. It was a breath of fresh air after years of relying solely on myself and my business.

After that, we took on roles as a couple managing a hotel in Brisbane. We did everything—from guest check-ins to operations—and it was a truly life-changing experience. It taught us so much, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I had real clarity. My passions, my goals, and what I truly wanted from life all became so much clearer.

LIVING ON THE ISLE OF MULL AND LIVING MY DREAM

Then we returned to the UK—it felt like the right decision. Australia taught us so much about ourselves, our relationship, and the kind of future we want to build. But ultimately, it wasn’t home.

We were fortunate to be offered a couple’s role at Port nan Gael, and once again, our lives changed. I’m now working as a commis chef and also supporting the campsite operations. It’s been a fantastic experience, and there's so much more to come—our roles are set to grow significantly, and we’ve decided to stay here longer-term.

Living on this beautiful island has been truly healing. I’ve taken up running, which has completely transformed my mental health. It’s become a powerful tool for navigating the challenges I once found overwhelming. Life feels lighter now. I’m doing work I love, surrounded by people who bring me joy, and I finally feel connected, social, and at peace.

I’ve also started engaging more with estranged communities again, and there are some exciting events coming up that I can’t wait to announce soon. This is where I’m at in my journey—and honestly, life is on the up.
